These crazy South Africans’ stupid song has been spinning around in my head all day… Kinda funny though.

Tapas i verdensklasse i Århus

In Aarhus we have been fortunate enough to have lived to see the day when a classy tapas inspired restaurant opened its doors in our town. CanBlau is the name and its has class, at least if we tend to believe what we have heard. The chef Jimmy Holm is a former chef from ElBullí in Spain – former world’s best restaurant with the iconic chef Ferran Adría behind the wheel. Here at LeHype we are to visit the place on Sunday to check out the goods and bring you the judgement. Just for the fun of it..
This morning I found myself dancing around listing to this great song. This type of quirky, lo-fi, indie pop usually stays pretty hidden from the masses. Darwin Deez, a hipster so hip you can’t help but love him…

Oklahoma-born New York artist Jason Clay Lewis recently published this somewhat disturbing piece of work in connection with oil spill in the Mexican Gulf. The sculpture resembles an infant tattooed with religiously modified references to the incident. The name of the sculpture, “Drill Baby”, is a reference to the republican “Drill, Baby, Drill”-campaign which sparked some level of controversy in the US.

I randomly stumbled across this song by Danish pop-darling Oh Land, and I spent the last couple of hours listening to it on repeat. The song’s a homage to New York, and since I’m a sucker for the Big Apple, I guess it makes sense that I love it… The above clip is an acoustic version, recorded in a submarine by Third Ear. Unfortunately White Nights won’t be available for purchase until October, so for now you would have to swing by her MySpace if you want to check out the studio version – which you should. Pop music at it’s best!
Hey guys! Johan and I are hung over proper, and Esben is busy preparing tonights wine tasting. Hangovers and wine tasting might sound like a bad match, but nothing beats a bit of alcohol to recover from a hangover, so we’ll be fine! We’re drinking some expensive Spanish shit, so it’s gonna be a blast I’m sure. We’ll upload pics aplenty in the near future!
In the meantime, you guys could listen to this killer song, written by Leonard Cohen, peformed superbly by Nickel Eye

I’m not unconditionally a big fan of Urban Outfitters, I mean, the concept of a life style store for the young and hip is quite brilliant, but way too often their selection is just… well, let’s say not of my taste! There is of course one exception to this rule, and that’s with their rather great and, quite notably, inexpensive selection of books. The selection of books on design and art is particularly great, for example they have this nice book, filled to the brim with posters by American pop artist, Roy Liechtenstein. The book is the first to gather such a large collection of works by Liechtenstein, and while you would normally suspect books of this kind to ring in at at least £ 50, this one’s available at only £ 25. Not bad at all!

Okay, so Johan and I co-invented this über-cool concept: The Bucket of Death! Pretty fuckin’ killer name, huh?!?! Basically, it’s the macho version of the punch bowl. You mix any drink in a giant cleaning bucket, preferably filled with ice, and maybe limes, mint leaves, or whatever applies to the drink you’re mixing. On saturday we opted for a pretty simple mix of dark rum, coke, lime cordial, and fresh limes. And by the way, there has to be at least one full bottle of booze in it, or else it’s not cool, and it certainly want qualify to be a Bucket of Death! Anyways… BoD-nights (a hip abbreviation of Bucket of Death, in case you didn’t notice) are always fun, and Saturday was no exception! We went to a Klub Stuka X Tartelet Records party, which was – as always when Klub Stuka’s involved – a major hit. Very much fun indeed!

There it is in all it’s glory: The Bucket of Death!

Johan’s cool neck piece – he got it in Israel, of course!

Stylish bruvas, Morten & Johan. Johan (to the right) in a jacket from Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, a vintage necklace and a tee from Acne. The ring is from MTWTFSS.

Nice little lace-detail from Morten Kryger.

I was sporting my Dries van Noten jungle print tee, vintage Nehru-style blazer, Diesel chinos, and of course my two best friends: Docs and my Antonioli man bag

The Foodsnob is, in my book, the best restaurantblogger in the whole world. I love this guy. A benchmark when it comes to details an knowledge on the subject.
The Foodsnob is a foodie. We see a lot of them these days. Only a few of them are serious and even fewer of them share their experiences with the rest of us. It is only our luck that The Foodsnob has chosen to share his experiences with us. He mainly visits Michelin restaurants from Paris and London, but there is also many post from Denmark, Germany and USA. He is especially in to the Parisian restaurant l´Aperge which he visits every month as far as I know.
The articles posted by the foodsnob are the most elaborate and precise descriptions I have ever seen, when it comes to restaurants. As an additions he takes pictures of every course served and that is a bonus worth mentioning. These pictures gives us everything we need when reading the revues in the papers. As an example I would urge you to read the post on Danish superrestaurant NOMA.
To afford this, he lives at his parents and spend every penny he has on restaurant visits. This fact gives him an extra point in my book. This is pure dedication. I can only say this much. If you have any interest in the world of food, this is a must read.

Gaaaaaaaaab!

Johan and I are bloggers on the run! Yesterday treated us with Jean//phillip, Wood Wood, Bruuns Bazaar and David Andersen, followed by die hard partying with the legendary Michael Høyer. Headaches and blogging material aplenty’s a bad match, so we will wait a short bit before we publish reviews, photos, and all that jazz. But we will tell you that (not surprisingly) the level of quality went up a notch compared to wednesday – particularly Jean//phillip and David Andersen excited us (again, no big surprise). Today it’s Minimarket and Henrik Vibskov, followed by a few fashionable fiestas… YAWN!

This weekend’s soundtrack is a no-brainer really. Johan’s just returned from the land that flows with milk and honey, and to celebrate the return of the king, we will throw a macho dinner party (is there such a thing, really??), accompanied by mega star – by Jewish terms, at least – Matisyahu’s Youth-album, and primarilly with the smash hit Jerusalem on repeat.
Youth is available via HMV at £ 5.17
“Jerusalem, if I forget you, let my right hand forget what it’s supposed to do!”
