Teen sensation Sylvester Ulv is one of the world’s brightest modelling talents. In fact so bright that you could think of him as the real life counterpart to Hanzel from the Zoolander-movie. And although we very rarely post editorials here on LeHype.dk, we thought we might make an exception this time around, ’cause not only is Sylvester Ulv hotter than Justin Bieber, but he’s also our compatriot!
The editorial is shot by Krzysztof Herholdt, and styled by Sebastián Machado

New York-based Opening Ceremony has gone all in on the ponies this season! They have made several styles, including the top-selling M1 desert boot, in pony hair versions, and indeed do they make it work! The prices range from $ 340 – 355. The croc ones are of course just plain leather, but they’re still cool, and I thought they fitted with the concept of the post, so I included them… They’re $ 385. All styles are available via the OC webshop.

This post is a short one, in fact, if blog posts were intercourse, it would be what you’d refer to as a ‘quickie’. And just like a quickie, the fact that it’s short, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad, so let’s get going with the actual content of the post (’cause thus far it’s only been foreplay): Zara just opened their online store! Boom!

Okay, so we might as well do a short follow-up. Yesterday H&M created the fuss, and today they confirmed it: It is in fact Lanvin and Alber Elbaz who will collaborate with H&M with this year’s high end collabo. Awesome! Now, they better be doing some menswear as well, or I will open up a proper can o’ whupass!!!

Can somebody please tell me where in the world I can find these Roberto Cavalli trousers? See, normally I wouldn’t touch Cavalli’s italo-disastrous designs, even if my life depended on it, but amazingly enough he got it dead on this time around. Stupid thing is, they’re not even available via his own webshop, so if any of you guys know where I could get them online, it’d be highly appreciated if you’d let me know!
Rumours are circulating on the Internet right now, that H&M’s upcoming high-end collaborator will be legendary Lanvin. One of the reasons for this, is that the voice-over on the above clip sounds like Lanvin’s creative director, israeli Alber Elbaz. At least that’s according to Style.com – and they usually know their shit! No doubt to me that this would be a giant scoop for H&M, albeit I’m always somewhat sceptical towards these collaborations. ‘Cause why would Lanvin use their creative heavy arms with H&M? But hopefully this would bring some genuine style and elegance back to the streets, instead of just ‘cool’, ’cause as we all know (by now, at least) once ‘cool’, then ‘cold’… Or… What??? Anyway, we’re intrigued – are you?

Okay, so I just received my new Giuliano Fujiwara cashmere/cotton-mix tee, and it has to be the gayest thing I have ever purchased! With the shiny front and the see-through back it has Ricky Martin written all over it, and I will admit that my first thought was to send it back to the retailer ASAP! Now, let me just set the record straight, before accusations start flying: I don’t mind gay people at all, but I must say that I would prefer not to be mistaken for one, ’cause it’s hard enough as it is for a fashion-sucker like myself to convince people that I’m as straight as they come. But anyway, I’m beginning to have second thoughts, ’cause I actually think that, if styled properly, it could be kinda cool after all… I’m thinking that a matte, black wool or cotton blazer would do the trick along with a pair of dark slim-fit trousers, and shiny, black chelsea boots. Something simple and classy like that, and I think I would be ready to hit the town. But still… there’s no chance in hell I’m going for cocktails or even wine in this one – it’s beer, and beer only!

Sometimes you just gotta be bummed out that you don’t live in Japan (well, unless you do, of course). ‘Cause every now and again stuff comes out that can only be found in the Land of the Rising Sun, like for instance this killer version of the Converse All Star. Let me first point out that I’m a huge fan of the All Star! Some fashionites would argue that they’re sellout and mundane, but to me, this is the ultimate utility-sneaker. You throw it on whenever you can’t make anything else work. But I think that both the pro- and anti-All Star crowds alike, would agree that this duffel version of the classic is pretty friggin’ awesome! Combining the sneaker with elements from the traditional duffel coat, this All Star definitely spices up the old original to an extend where you simply gotta love it! The buttoning detail in particular makes this an absolutely awesome standout to the old version. Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, it’s only due to be released in Japan, but you never know… So let’s keep our fingers crossed that Converse would realize that these babies would sell themselves anywhere in the world!!

H&M boots 30€. Asos military boots 86€. Bikkembergs boots via Yoox 120€. Topman boots 85£. Kris Van Assche via LuisaViaRoma, 580€. Rick Owens via Oki-Ni 950€. Raf Simons via The Corner
, 680€. APC via TresBienShop, 363€.

Just a quick note: LuisaViaRoma now lets you slash an extra 25 % off the price in their sale section. Just enter the promo code ‘FR25S07H‘ during checkout to earn your discount. Just thought you guys might like to know…
Just wanted to share these pictures from the Asos Fall 2010 campaign with you guys. I think they are upping their game this season and I think that Topman just got themselves a serious contender. What do you think?

I’m gonna keep the text-part very short today, as I’m tired, nauseous, hungry, dizzy, and all these other things you feel, when you have been out on the town four days on the trot… Carin Wester turns her attention to the flower power feel of the early 70′s. It’s easy breezy and quite a bit exaggerated with the accesories, but paradoxically the overall impression is still that it’s a somewhat minimalistic collection. Apparently layers are redundant for next spring, or she just didn’t bother. And why would she, when she can make it work without? There is no doubt that Carin Wester is one of the most interesting Scandinavian designers right now, but I’m starting to sense a lack of coherence with her collections. I still wish she would work a tad harder with defining her signature style, but maybe that’s just me…. I mean, as long as her stuff’s cool, I guess it’s all good…

Cheap Monday is one of those brands whose shows are always highly anticipated by the public, due to it’s accessibility. And normally Cheap Monday would be the obvious solution if you’re in the market for cheap, hip high street clothes, but it seems as though they themselves have forgotten that this time around. Traditionally Cheap Monday likes to keep it simple with a twist, but this time around it looks more like Roberto Cavalli on crack! And the big problem is, that even though they are apparently gunning for an Italian high end look, it still has to be cheap, and this has resulted in a rather unfortunate choice of materials. Because some of their coated jackets and shorts might (but only just might) have worked out, had they been leather, but the Cheap Monday version comes of cheap and artificial. Whatever happened to all that rock’n'roll that used to permeate their previous collections I don’t know, but I sure as hell know that I would appreciate it, if they could rediscover it before their next collection!
